LOOKING AHEAD - ALL ALONG THE WALL
Thanks very much to all of you who sent us supportive messages and commiserations following the sad news about the cancellation of this year’s festival. We hope you didn’t find the Brampton Live weekend too empty of fun and frolics - we heard that there were a range of Brampton Live themed parties and other events organised by friends and fans that might have distracted you.
Looking to the future, we’re pleased to announce that the All Along The Wall project lives on in the form of more performances at various other festivals and venues and a new ‘live’ CD on the Fellside label.
All Along The Wall started back in January, when we brought together songwriters Jez Lowe, Julie Matthews, Rory McLeod, Boo Hewerdine, and Ruth Notman, and poets Kate Fox and Elvis McGonagall, in a remote farmhouse near Steel Rigg on Hadrian’s Wall. Their challenge was to create enough material – on the theme of the Wall – to produce a 75 minute concert. They responded magnificently, and All Along The Wall was premiered at The Wave in Maryport.
The CD faithfully captures a superb performance that drew a standing ovation from an audience who all felt privileged to be the first to hear it. To get your hands on a copy, send a cheque for £13 (the price includes postage and packaging) payable to ‘Brampton Live Festival’ to:

Further performances of All Along The Wall are scheduled as follows:
26 January 2011 – Celtic Connections Festival, Glasgow.
27 January 2011 – William Howard School, Brampton.
May 2011 – further dates planned including The Sage, Gateshead.
Finally, as we ponder the future of the festival, we’d like to know more about what was behind the lack of sales this year. With the festival’s future in the balance, we’d be grateful if you added your views by following the link through to our survey.
If you missed the statement about the festival's cancellation, please find it here.
